In celebration of their latest Walter E.P., the high-octane & beloved Lucky Chops treated fans to another memorable performance last night here in the Big Apple’s Irving Plaza.
After touring the world intensely for the past year, the NYC brass band was finally able to channel their gifts by laying down some new tracks for us to enjoy. The festivities began with support from Roots of Creation and The Yeahtones, climaxing in a dynamic show by Lucky Chops, which saw their well-known spontaneous jams and finely crafted arrangements come to life.
The new release features Josh Holcomb on trombone, Daro Behroozi on tenor sax, Joshua Gawel on trumpet, Charles Sams IV on drums and sousaphone player Raphael Buyo AKA Yung Raffy AKA Patchy Brian. From here it is back on the road for them as they tour the U.S. and South America.
We look forward to seeing the ensemble later this summer at Croton-on-Hudson, as we anticipate what the energy of this tour allows them next to create!
