On April 13th, after a two-year absence the New York International Auto Show made its return to the world stage. For the past 120 years the show has continued to be an innovative institution being the last automotive ideas to the world stage.
The New York Metro area is one of the nation’s largest markets of new car sales, so it was only expected that this year sees a major swing to Electric vehicles. Jacob K. Javits Convention Center’s near one million square feet of exhibit floor allowed for four large indoor test tracks of EVs. Something never seen before but a clever way for potential buyers to get the full experience of driving one.
There was a noticeable larger presence from Hyundai, Kia, Subaru and newcomers VinFast and INDI EV. While marques such as Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Mazda, and the Honda group foregoing the show all together. Such a decision might be seconded guessed next year.
The 2022 show has set the stage going forward for the pageant of the future of car travel, not only electric cars, but also displays of electric scooters, bikes, home charging stations and even camping vehicles.
The 2022 show runs from Friday, April 15th, through Sunday, April 24th. Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 7 pm.
