Sunflower Bean rocked Webster Hall after the release of their latest album Headful of Sugar on May 12th. The audience portrayed a range of New York locals and long-time friends of the native band who have matured and sonically blossomed into their own element.
The post-apocalyptic lighting design and fashion of the group transpired into a melting pot of 80s-infused feedback and plastic 2020s rock revival, which somehow eloquently fit the band.
Frontwoman Julia Cumming took a moment to share that Webster Hall has always been a dream of hers to play, growing up and walking around East Village as a kid. It was the drummer, Olive Faber’s birthday, another reason to celebrate together. The successful night kicked off an exciting new era for the band and New York City’s rock scene.
